Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Diabetic foot ulcers are open sores or wounds that occur in approximately 15% of patients with diabetes and are commonly located on the bottom of the foot. If not treated, they can lead to serious complications, including infection or amputation.
Symptoms:
- Open sores on the foot
- Swelling or redness around the ulcer
- Drainage or discharge from the sore
- Pain around the affected area
- Odor if infection is present
